ID Check Policy

To help keep cannabis sales safe, lawful, and secure, VIP Cannabis may require valid government-issued photo ID to verify age and identity during in-store purchases, pickup, delivery, or other transactions where verification is needed.

Why do you ask for ID?

We check ID to help prevent underage access, reduce fraudulent transactions, and confirm that cannabis products are released only to an eligible customer where required by law or store policy.

When might ID be required?

ID may be requested when entering the store, at checkout, during pickup, or at the time of delivery. We may also ask for ID when a transaction requires additional verification for security or fraud-prevention purposes.

What kind of ID is accepted?

We require valid government-issued photo ID that clearly shows your name, photo, and date of birth, such as a driver’s licence, passport, or provincial photo card. The ID must be current, legible, and belong to the person completing the transaction.

Do I need ID for delivery or pickup?

Yes. For cannabis pickup and delivery orders, the receiving customer may be required to present valid government-issued photo ID before the order can be released. If age or identity cannot be verified, the order may be refused, cancelled, or returned in accordance with applicable law and store policy.

Do you keep or store my ID information?

We review identification only as needed for verification. Unless required by law or necessary for a specific fraud-prevention process that has been disclosed to you, we do not collect or record unnecessary ID details.

What if the name on my payment method does not match?

If a transaction raises a fraud or verification concern, we may ask for additional confirmation before completing the purchase. If we cannot reasonably verify the transaction, we may decline or cancel the order for security reasons.

What happens if I do not provide ID?

If ID is required and you choose not to provide it, we may be unable to complete the transaction or release the order. This helps us meet legal obligations and maintain a safe shopping experience for customers and staff.
